Machine Wash

Wash soiled products within 3 days. Do not leave items unwashed longer than this to prevent odor and bacteria buildup.

Before washing, rinse heavily soiled pads under cold running water until the water runs clear. Pretreat creams or oil-based stains with a drop of blue Dawn dish soap, gently hand wash the area, and rinse thoroughly. Place small or delicate items inside a mesh laundry bag to prevent them from getting lost or caught in your machine.

Machine wash in cold water using a reputable detergent; we recommend Tide Original. Start with a cold pre-wash using about ¼ of the recommended detergent amount. Follow with a heavy-duty wash (longest cycle) in warm water up to 140°F / 60°C, using the full recommended amount of detergent. Add other laundry items for proper bulk. Do not use bleach or fabric softeners.

Hand Wash

Rinse under cold running water until clear. Wash in a sink or basin with detergent, agitate gently, soak for 10 minutes, and rinse thoroughly.

Drying

Air dry whenever possible to maintain shape and performance. If using a dryer, tumble on low heat and avoid over-drying to prevent shrinking, damage, or unnecessary wear.

HyPs Original menstrual pads come in four sizes, each with tailored absorbency:
  • Liner (8 inches): Holds 10-20 ml (2-4 tampons’ worth), ideal for spotting or light protection.
  • Regular (10 inches): Holds 20-30 ml (4-6 tampons), perfect for moderate days.
  • Heavy (13 inches): Holds 30-40 ml (6-8 tampons) for heavier days or overnight.
  • Max (16 inches): Holds 80-100 ml (up to 20 tampons’ worth) for very heavy flow or postpartum needs. This range ensures you have a reusable period pad that’s just right for your needs.
Change frequency depends on your flow and the pad size. On lighter days, you may only need to change once or twice, while on heavy days, you might want to switch more often. The Heavy and Max sizes are made for extended wear, so you can feel secure without constant changes.

So much depends on your cycle! Generally, folks using this for their menstrual cycle (not postpartum or incontinence) tell us they need at most 4 pads per day of their cycle, once they know what size works for them. This Blog Post has great information
Our HyPs are certified tested to be PFA and PFOA free. Our products are all CPSIA (Consumer Product Safety Improvement Act) certified and tested to be free of: BPA, parabens, formaldehyde, lead, and phthalates.

Good product, amazing company

I recommend not only the hyps - they are comfortable, help with my heavy flow and incontinence, and the materials have even shortened my period by a day or two in just one cycle of using them as opposed to disposables! But also this company in general. They are professional, personable, authentic, VERY FAST, accurate, reliable, and worthy of your trust. I have placed 6 orders with numerous items and they all have arrived on time, quickly, with everything perfectly accounted for.

So I’ve had a regular pad in shark week and a heavy one from 3 years ago (sexy aliens in space) I’m a heavy bleeder I use a cup and these and period panties as needed! These pads were a damn game changer! Just felt like I was wearing underwear! And no nasty funk like you get from pads some times!

Great product! It's not itchy like most one-time use pads are. They are comfortable, I went on an hour walk and had no issues. The liner on the edge of the wings can soak up blood and sometimes leave small stains on the underwear, so dont wear your favorite underwear with them. Now that i am used to hand washing and hang drying them its easy, and i prefer these over buying uncomfortable pads every month. I am very happy with my purchase 😁

My favorite product

For starters I am a very heavy bleeder and just came off of hormonal birth control for the first time in twelve years. These pads have literally saved my butt. I have bled clean through over night ultra heavy disposable pads within 2 hours. Not to mention my whole underwear are was always raw and chaffed and I kept getting recurring BV. Since I changed to these cloth pads not one case of BV, not one bleed through, honestly 95 LESS worries! I feel clean and dry even on some of my heaviest days. Sometimes I still fill up the heavy flow ones in 2-3 hours but I never feel like I'm not secure. I only use these pads (and a diva cup sometimes) after YEARS of trying to find a product that can keep up with my heavy days and not make me feel gross this company was a blessing! And the team behind it? AMAZING! This is the ONLY company (in any context) that actually called me a month or so after receiving my order to ask about the product and honestly wanted feedback to improve! Which I appreciate so much.
