Why a Mother’s Day Craft Makes the Best Gift
I can’t believe how much more quickly time passes as a parent. It's crazy that Mother's Day is just a few days away! I swear it was just yesterday my oldest was born but she’s almost eight, so I know my perception of time is warped.
Days blur together in the best way where I can only remember all the sweet moments. Like the moments where my girls will come up to me out of the blue and tell me they love me. Conveniently, I don’t remember the time that they flooded their bedroom with soap and water when I asked them to clean it. Oh wait, I do remember, but I look back on it and laugh.
There are some days where I am so eager for bedtime. Days that I’m fixated on the clock to see if I can finally get a break.
Parenting is HARD!
Long nights with a fussy newborn who only wants to snuggle on your chest, standoffs with a toddler who refuses to drink out of anything except the pink cup, battles with your child who only wants to wear velcro shoes because they refuse to learn to tie their own shoes.
Each stage has a different struggle, but deeper and richer rewards too. The happy coo of your newborn as they smile at you for the first time, when your toddler runs up to you in the middle of playing just to give you a hug and a kiss, a million pictures to hang on the fridge that are signed, “I love you”.
I’m still in the stage where my younger kids don’t create cards for me without guidance from daddy. We are obsessed with their tiny little hands, even when they’re coated in whatever they’re eating.
So we created a quick and very easy Mother’s Day craft.
As time speeds past us, unconcerned with our desperate desire to cling to every moment, we take a few minutes to record their tiny fingers.
I did this craft with all of my girls and then my oldest and I made a quick video for you guys who want to watch her make it herself, scroll down to watch!
