Our Story

Lil Helper was founded in 2011 by university friends Mohammed and Nader, two aerospace engineers from Toronto who decided the world needed better solutions for life's messier moments. Only one of them has aspirations of being a CK model. The other has a face made for radio. We'll let you figure out which is which.

Uncle Mo

If you've ever called us and heard an accent on the other end of the line, that's Mo. Not outsourced customer service. Just the founder, picking up the phone. Mo runs the show, obsesses over every product detail, and has spent the better part of 14 years thinking about how Lil Helper can do more, be better, and solve problems that nobody else is paying attention to. He also accepts gentle feedback on his cooking. Emphasis on gentle.

Why We Exist

We started as a cloth diaper company. We grew into something harder to put in a box. What connects everything we make is simple: if life has a leaky, messy, uncomfortable moment, we want to help with it. Cloth diapers, reusable menstrual pads, incontinence solutions, caregiver products, waterproof mats, G-tube pads. Different products, same mission. We show up for all of it, without apology and without overthinking it.

How We Build

Nothing we make is an afterthought. Every product starts with a real problem and gets designed around actually solving it. We're not designing for a season, we're designing for years. People are still using things we made over a decade ago. Others have passed their products on, or resold them and recouped more than half of what they paid. That's not an accident. Our prints are evergreen, our materials are chosen carefully, and almost everything we make is gender neutral. Because good design shouldn't have an expiry date.

How We Operate

We believe a business can do right by its customers, its community, and the planet, and still be profitable. We call it Kind Capitalism, and we mean it. Our Baby Do Better program subsidizes essentials for families going through hard times. Our God Forbid Guarantee refunds purchases when the unthinkable happens. We ship in the smallest box possible and make products from materials that would otherwise go to waste. Nearly our entire team are actual Lil Helper customers who chose to work here. We're glad you're here too.
