"It is understood that the beauty of a rainbow does not negate the ravages of any storm. When a rainbow appears, it does not mean the storm never happened or that we are not still dealing with its aftermath. It means that something beautiful and full of light has appeared in the midst of the darkness and clouds. Storm clouds may still hover, but the rainbow provides a counterbalance of colour, energy, and hope." - Author Unknown
This collection is for the parents in the world who have felt the pain of a positive sign on a stick slowly fading.
For the parents who heard a heartbeat and watched their little baby dance on the screen of their first ultrasound, only to hear the words “I’m sorry” later.
For those who have woken up in the night and known something was wrong.
To every parent who has spent 9 months growing and bonding with the most perfect little being only to be deprived of raising them.
For those welcomed their child, and brought them home, only to have to say goodbye too soon afterwards.
We are all parents here at Lil Helper, and we too have experienced loss in different forms.
The imagery on this print… from the tearful clouds, to the beautiful rainbows, and the butterflies fluttering… tells an all-too familiar story for parents around the world.
This print has been in the making for a long time, because we knew that in order to properly represent all aspects of this journey, we needed to give it as much attention and time as possible.
We worked on it to make it perfect only to realise, how can we make something perfect for an imperfect world.
We hope that the story and intent of our effort speaks to you and gives you strength.
We hope that this reminds you of the journey that you’ve taken into parenthood. We hope that it helps you commemorate your experiences.
But mostly we hope that these pieces bring a smile to your face, especially when you see it on the bum of your sweet little angel. The rainbow in your life.
As a part of Lil Helper’s commitment to giving back to our community, we will be donating $10 from the sale of each diaper to a group of charities. These charities will be chosen by a group of parents who have so graciously shared their stories with us.
We will share all of these Rainbow stories with you over the next couple of weeks and also tell you why they chose to donate to that particular charity.
So, to everyone who has walked or is currently navigating this impossible path, our hearts go out to you.
We are there with you, alongside you, holding your hand and giving you strength when you need it. We know the days are long and the nights even longer, but the sunshine and rainbow on the other side is coming. Don’t lose hope.
